Zodia Custody, a leading digital asset custodian, has announced the appointment of Jonathan Hugh as its new Chief Financial Officer. With shareholders such as Standard Chartered, SBI Holdings, and Northern Trust, Zodia Custody aims to expand its global growth and enter new markets with Jonathan overseeing their financial operations.
This significant hire comes at a crucial moment for the firm, which has recently secured major clients like LMAX, CoinShares, Blockfills, and Hidden Road Partners. Additionally, Zodia Custody successfully raised $36 million in a Series A funding round and expanded geographically to Luxembourg, Japan, and Dubai.
Jonathan, who previously held the same position at GSR, a liquidity provider and crypto market maker, brings a wealth of experience and expertise in the digital assets space. He will play a vital role in enhancing internal capabilities and efficiencies as Zodia Custody continues to develop its offerings globally.
Julian Sawyer, CEO of Zodia Custody, expressed excitement about Jonathan joining the team during an exciting period of scaling and building market infrastructure. He emphasized the unique institution-first approach to digital asset custody that sets Zodia Custody apart.
Jonathan Hugh, the incoming CFO, shared his enthusiasm for the opportunity to contribute to Zodia Custody’s strategic growth and join a team that champions an institution-first approach.
In a separate collaboration, Zodia Custody has partnered with Hidden Road Partners, a global credit network for institutions, to provide secure access to digital assets for institutional clients. Through Zodia Custody’s Interchange solution, clients will have access to both prime brokerage and custody services, with Hidden Road providing the former. This collaboration aims to safeguard digital assets, reduce counterparty risk exposure, and give clients greater control and protection of their assets.
Zodia Custody continues to position itself as a leading institution-first digital asset custodian, offering a comprehensive range of services to cater to the growing demand for secure and reliable digital asset storage and management.
