AMF Warns Public Against Unauthorized Atypical Investment Companies

The France’s Autorité des Marchés Financiers (AMF) has issued a warning to the public regarding several companies that are offering atypical investments without proper authorization. The AMF regularly updates its blacklists of websites and entities that propose such investments to investors in France without the required authorization.

The following are the newly identified websites offering atypical investments:

It is important to note that any offer to invest in miscellaneous assets must be registered with the AMF in order to be marketed. To ensure the legitimacy of an investment opportunity, individuals can refer to the AMF website for a white list of registered offers in miscellaneous assets.

Since January 1, 2023, the AMF has included 5 additional websites in its list of unauthorized entities offering atypical investments. In 2022 alone, the AMF added 20 websites to this list, with 12 falling under the ‘wine’ category.

For a comprehensive list of all unauthorized websites offering investments in various goods, individuals can visit the AMF website. It should be noted that this list is regularly updated, but may not include all unauthorized actors, as new ones emerge frequently.

Furthermore, registration decisions issued by the AMF can be found on their official website. It is advised that individuals should not respond to solicitations from any entity that is not on the AMF’s list of authorized players.

In another update, the AMF and the Autorité de Contrôle Prudentiel et de Résolution (ACPR) have also issued a warning against entities offering investments in Forex and crypto-asset derivatives in France without proper authorization.

To protect investors, the AMF and ACPR regularly update their blacklists of websites offering investments in the unregulated Forex market and derivative products involving crypto-assets without the required authorization.

The following are the recently identified websites operated by unauthorized entities offering Forex investments:

For the complete list, individuals can refer to the provided link. It is crucial for investors to be cautious and verify the legitimacy of any investment opportunity in the Forex market or crypto-asset derivatives by consulting the authorized lists provided by the AMF and ACPR.
