Genesis Global, a low-code application development platform specializing in the financial markets, has revealed a new solution aimed at asset managers. This solution, called Primary Bond Issuance, aggregates data on new bond deals, helping asset managers make faster investment decisions and improving the process of requesting and receiving allocations.
In primary markets for corporate bonds, asset managers must analyze new bond deals and request allocations within a very short timeframe, sometimes as little as two hours. This can be a challenging task, as monitoring the fragmented market for new issuance data is difficult. Banks use multiple platforms, such as DirectBooks, Ipreo, Bloomberg, Refinitiv, and email, to market an average of 40 new bond deals each day, with each deal being updated around 30 times.
Genesis’ Primary Bond Issuance solution aims to address these challenges by aggregating deal data from various sources. It provides asset managers with a complete, real-time view of the market in a single workspace, facilitating quick decision-making among portfolio managers, credit analysts, and traders. The solution can be customized to suit the specific needs of different asset managers.
Rahul Kambli, product manager for Primary Bond Issuance at Genesis, explained that the solution offers a comprehensive view of the market and integrates systems, workflows, and collaboration tools to ensure efficient investment decision-making and communication of allocation requests.
The Primary Bond Issuance solution also utilizes artificial intelligence technology to automatically process unstructured data. This eliminates the need for manual data entry by investment professionals who receive deal data via instant messages or email.
Developed in consultation with a major global asset manager, the Primary Bond Issuance solution aggregates, normalizes, and cleanses data from multiple deal sources. It also integrates users’ analytics, reference data, and compliance systems, providing a more enriching view of each deal and centralizing deal-related workflows. Additionally, it connects to order management systems, allowing seamless requesting and receiving of allocations. The solution also includes customizable alerts and workflow handling, full audit functionality, and collaboration tools like Symphony to further expedite investment decision-making.
The Primary Bond Issuance solution is built on the Genesis low-code application development platform and can be configured to accommodate user preferences for integrations and workflow design. It exemplifies how Genesis helps institutional asset managers automate their investment processes with modern applications that transform how market data and internal analytics are shared among portfolio managers, traders, and credit analysts, leading to more collaborative decision-making on risks and opportunities in the markets.
