The Securities Commission Malaysia has announced the recipients of its Digital Innovation Fund, which provides co-funding for innovative projects that utilize technology to bring new and competitive offerings to the Malaysian capital market. The aim of the fund is to encourage smaller capital market players to invest in technology and to develop industry-wide solutions that impact capital raising and investment activities.
One of the award recipients is MULA Advisory, a company that acts as a financial fitness instructor for Malaysians, helping them measure, plan, and manage their finances. MULA Advisory was created by Malacca Securities, a Malaysian company that has over 60 years of experience in the industry.
Another recipient is Capsphere, a peer-to-peer asset-based financing platform. The firm’s online investment platform matches Malaysian SMEs in need of funding with potential investors. Capsphere aims to create a shared space for small and medium enterprises and investors, enabling them to fulfill their ambitions while contributing to economic growth in a socially rewarding way.
Capsphere is the first P2P asset-based financing platform registered with the Securities Commission Malaysia. Every loan provided by Capsphere is secured with an asset, which allows the company to offer low-interest financing to SMEs and gives the investor community greater confidence in supporting local businesses.
Advisonomics, another recipient of the Digital Innovation Fund, is a licensed financial planning organization that combines technology with human engagement to address financial problems. The company has been operating for three years and aims to provide comprehensive financial planning services to individuals and businesses.
These award recipients are pioneering the use of technology in the Malaysian capital market and are playing a crucial role in encouraging investments by smaller players and the development of industry-wide solutions. With their innovative projects, they are set to make a significant impact on capital raising and investment activities in Malaysia.
