Green banking platform, Tred, has successfully raised 114% (£171,707.44) of its £150,000 crowdfunding target with three days remaining on its Crowdcube campaign. Tred describes itself as B Corp pending and 1% for the Planet certified. The company has developed innovative banking and climate technology that has tracked over £110 million in payments. Tred aims to use the funds raised to launch a business account for the 77% of UK SMEs seeking support in becoming more sustainable.

Tred, headquartered in the UK, offers equity investments with a pre-money valuation of £3 million and a share price of £2.07. The company’s focus is on establishing a green banking solution and it has made significant strides in developing seamless banking and progressive climate technology. The team at Tred has already won awards, including “Startup of the Year” and “Green Fintech Company of the Year,” and has secured a 5-year deal with Mastercard in 2021.

The regulatory landscape and consumer demands are driving businesses to embrace sustainability, with 48% of UK consumers stating they would boycott unethical companies. Tred believes that existing UK money management providers lack trustworthy green credentials and modern climate technology, leaving 77% of the country’s 5.5 million SMEs in need of support on their sustainability journey.

Tred aims to address this gap in the market by becoming one of the UK’s leading green banking platforms. The company is B Corp-pending and certified by 1% For The Planet. Tred has already developed innovative carbon tracking technology, which has tracked over 10 million kilograms of CO2, and built its banking infrastructure, which has tracked over £110 million in payments.

After conducting beta testing with individuals, Tred discovered a greater demand for a green banking product among businesses. They are now crowdfunding to launch their business account, offering a green banking provider that does not invest in fossil fuels, instant carbon footprint tracking technology for automated ESG reporting, and user-friendly banking technology designed for modern customers.

Tred believes that there is a significant demand for a provider that can help businesses transition to green financial practices. Within a few weeks, 170 businesses have already registered their interest in Tred’s green banking platform. Individuals are invited to invest in Tred and join the green money movement.
